Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst Conference 2027

Date:

Monday 14 June – Tuesday 15 June 2027

Venue:

Nancy Rothwell Building, The University of Manchester, Oxford Road, M13 9PL

Hear from speakers from across the industrial biotechnology innovation ecosystem and discover how we’re building the bioeconomy in the north-west.

Industrial biotechnology holds huge potential for transforming how we make and manufacture everything from fuels to medicines, to everyday goods. The government recognises this potential and in 2025 announced the new Industrial Strategy, in which engineering biology was named as one of the prioritised areas with the greatest growth potential. This is why IBIC is providing support at a regional level by facilitating research, innovation and scale-up within the north-west.

Join us for two days of community building which will bring together academics, researchers, industry professionals, civic body partners, funders and policymakers with exciting talks and panel sessions, along with many opportunities to network with fellow colleagues from across the industrial biotechnology community. You’ll also be able to see some of the fantastic projects that we’ve funded over the past three years and see the impact they’ve been able to have on the north-west region and beyond.

View the agenda which will be updated with topics, timings and speakers!
